The Guarana is a climbing shrub which grows along trees in the forest and which can reach up to 12 meters in height. After flowering, the plant produces clusters of fruit. The fruit is a red and orange colored pod which, when ripe, partially opens to expose its seeds, which are partially wrapped in a white film.
